How do I book a session?
The ideal time for maternity photos is between 28 and 34 weeks — your baby bump is beautifully visible, and you're likely still feeling comfortable enough to enjoy a relaxed session. That said, every pregnancy is different, and I'm happy to work with whatever timing works best for you!
When should we schedule a maternity session?
It's best to book your newborn session during pregnancy to ensure availability, but if your baby has already arrived — don't worry! I typically recommend photographing newborns within the first two weeks when they're sleepy and snuggly. That said, we can capture lovely photos at any stage. It's really about when you feel ready — whether early on or later when things have settled.
When should we schedule our newborn session?
The goal is to feel comfortable, confident, and like yourselves. I recommend soft tones, neutral colors, and classic patterns for family and maternity sessions — they photograph beautifully and help create timeless images. Think about how everyone's outfits look together and aim for a cohesive look. Try to avoid overly bright colors or busy patterns. That said, dress your kids in outfits you love seeing them in at this age — those little details matter. And if you'd like help pulling looks together, I'm always happy to offer suggestions!
What should we wear for our session?
Each session is designed to feel relaxed and enjoyable — we follow your family's lead. Family and maternity sessions usually last 45 to 90 minutes, while newborn sessions are typically a little longer, around 1.5 to 2 hours, to allow feeding, breaks, and soothing time. We wrap up once we've captured what we need (or your little ones have had enough). No pressure, no rush — just a comfortable pace that works for you.
How long does a session typically last?
I photograph families in meaningful and natural locations — your home, a favorite park, or a beloved local beach. I'm based in Fairfield County, CT, and often work with families in Westport, Weston, Wilton, Redding, New Canaan, Darien, Norwalk, Stamford, Ridgefield, Fairfield, and beyond. I am happy to travel anywhere in the tri-state area — if there's a spot your family loves, let's make it part of your story!
Where do you photograph sessions?
The best sessions start with a bit of prep and a lot of flexibility. My best advice: don't stress! For newborn sessions, all you need is a cozy, calm space. We'll take our time, follow your baby's lead, and capture the sweet, fleeting moments of your early days together. For family sessions, make sure everyone is fed, rested, and in the loop. Talk to your kids beforehand and frame it as something fun — like a playdate or adventure. Let them know there's a special treat afterward — ice cream, a new toy, or a movie night. It works like magic!
